Deck Railings

AADeck Railings

When remodeling or adding on a deck to your home you have a couple of things to think about. One of the most important aspects is the type of railing you choose to install. To help you make this decision you will want to take in to consideration your view, level of maintenance, and style of your home.

Aluminum Rail

If you are looking for a classic, simple, cost effective rail, an aluminum rail is the way to go. These are one of the most frequently installed rails. They are very low maintenance, durable, and the least expensive option. However, if you want to focus on your view, the aluminum rail may not be the best option. These railings are definitely more invasive than cable or glass rails would be.

Cable Rail

Exterior cable rails are a popular choice if you are lucky enough to have a breath-taking view. The cables are so small that they tend to blend in with their surroundings. This allows you to have a pretty clear view of your backyard, golf course, lake view, ect. These are a great choice if you are looking for an easy maintenance, non-disruptive railing.

Glass Rail

Glass railings are a great choice for contemporary and modern homes. Often times homeowners with ocean or lake views lean towards glass. This creates a very open deck that allows you to easily view your surroundings. Glass, of course, will require a little more maintenance as you have to wash down the surface.
